Our Wedding

A Love Story, Mostly TrueIt started at an all-women’s investment seminar, the kind of event where you go to talk about life and financial goals and somehow end up talking about love lives too. Maya’s financial goal, for the record, was a small beach house in Cape Cod. She attended the seminar at the invitation of her friend, Ami Doshi, who is also Kendall Travis’s financial advisor. Kendall and Maya sat next to each other and hit it off. Kendall immediately felt like an old friend. Over brunch not long after, Kendall said, I have someone for you. I talked to him. He's in the middle of raising an investment round for his newest deal and he'll call you when he gets off the road and can take you on a proper date.Kendall had also called Amish. I never set anyone up with anyone, she told him. But you have to meet this girl. She's beautiful: half French and half Indian, smart and has a great bod. Amish replied: I'm intrigued. Tell her I'll call in three weeks.He did. And then, he more or less didn't stop.What followed was a courtship built on long weekend trips: hikes, flights, swims, live music, dinners that ran late. We fell in love while traveling, Maya says, and I think that's a perfect way to get to know someone.Take their very first trip together, to Yountville. Amish realized, once they'd arrived, that he'd left his dress shirts back at their hotel in San Francisco. Maya was delighted by his response — a shrug, a smile. Oh well, I'll call the hotel when I get home and have them shipped. Want to go to that store with the hats you liked? You can get a hat, and I'll get a couple of shirts for our dinners.That whole weekend felt like magic. The sun was shining, Amish got a last-minute reservation at French Laundry, and neither of them wanted the trip to end. In a lot of ways, it was the weekend that sealed the deal. On the Sunday drive back to SFO, Maya said what an incredible weekend it had been, and Amish replied, I know! I don't even want this car ride to end!Fifteen months after their first date, Amish suggested a quick trip back to Napa. This time felt different. Amish had arranged a private tour at Paradigm, one of Maya's favorite vineyards, and somewhere in the middle of it, he got down on one knee and asked her to make him the luckiest man. She did. It was January 10, 2026.From there, the search for a wedding venue became its own little adventure: Todos Santos, Mexico City, Costa Rica, and finally, San Miguel de Allende — a city with a kind of magic none of the others quite matched. It was what Maya and Amish wanted for their guests: a small trip somewhere beautiful — new to some of you, and already beloved by others.More than anything, they want you to feel joy and celebrate love, adventure, and the people who make the ride worth it.No gifts, please. Collin and Maya have known each other since high school — same school, same college, then seven years together in Boston after that. She's been the one steady voice through basically everything in Maya's life since. These days she splits her time between Fort Worth and Maine, running her own photography business, and travels the world solo chasing beautiful moments — deserts, coastlines, wherever the light is right (@collinhowellphoto).

Carol and Maya met in their twenties in Dallas — Carol was married with a career already going, and Maya had just left New York and was still figuring things out. They connected on a lot of levels: spirituality, art, relationships -- and still do. These days Carol is working toward her PhD in Clinical Psychology and lives in Salvador, Brazil with her husband Fabio and their two children.

Ami and Maya were introduced by Mayas father, Ajit, whos friends with Amis mentor, Jayesh Parekh. Maya had just moved back from Boston, and Ami was running a non-profit focused on micro-lending for women entreprenuers in India and Maya joined the board. They became close -- often contemplating purpose, beliefs and habits. and recently completed a seven month study focused on all three. Ami serves as Director of Business Development at Hightower Signature Wealth and lives in Dallas with her two children.

Beth and Maya met at a summer course in architecture at Harvard — they were both flirting with a career transition, and the six-week course became the perfect creative outlet. They connected instantly and pushed each other's ideas along the whole way through. Beth was an integral part of Maya's time in Boston and has stayed one of her closest friends since. She lives in Newton, MA with her husband Tod and their two children.

Elizabeth Duffy Hynes

Alex and Maya were roommates in Boston and she totally broke open Mayas shell. They threw Halloween parties, spent time at Alexs familys home on Marthas Vineyard, and had countless evenings walking to dinner after work in downtown Boston. Alex has remained one of Mayas closest friends ever since. Shes co-founder and CMO of Upwell Materials, and lives in Manhattan with her husband Steve and their three children.

Katy and Maya moved back to Fort Worth from the East Coast at the same time — Katy from Manhattan, and Maya from Boston. They were both single at the time, and several people told each of them they needed to meet. Maya was so glad they did, because they became great friends. Katy has been a close confidant throughout Mayas dating life. She is Private Bank Market Lead at PNC Bank and lives in Fort Worth with her husband Mark and their son, Ford

Katy Rhodes Magruder

Renu and Maya met years ago on the board of Opportunity+, a nonprofit run by their mutual friend (and bridesmaid) Ami Doshi. Board meetings at Amis house turned into real friendship, fueled by shared purpose, wine, and laughter. Since then, theyve grown closer. Renu and her husband, Devashish, are an awesome pair — bringing fun and energy wherever they go. Renu is a professor at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and she and Devashish live in Pittsburgh, PA with their three children.

Kendall is the reason were all here! She introduced Maya and Amish. Kendall is a powerhouse  — pretty, smart, fun,  and loyal. Shes the ultimate connector — always thinking about who should meet whom in her life, and shes usually right. Kendall is a realtor licensed in Texas and New York, specializing in luxury condos, and lives in Dallas with her husband, JT.

Jacie and Maya met on Mayas first day of high school at Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth. They became close friends, experiencing life together as high schoolers do — homework, nights out, lots of time driving around, summer jobs. Maya has known Jacie the longest of all her bridesmaids and cherishes their friendship. Jacie currently serves as Director of Infection Prevention at Prisma Health and lives in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband Neil, their two children, and a menagerie of animals and plants.
